In this community, every time Children's Hospital is mentioned you can hear things like:
"Oh, they helped my son, daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, grandchild, or they helped my neighbor's child."
Children's Hospital survives solely by philantrophy. No child is turned away because of inability to pay. That's a promise they have kept for over 50 years.
