My name is Kirsten and I was hospitalized for 3 days with pneumonia and asthma. I am a very athletic kid but when my parents noticed that I wasn't being myself, they rushed me to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. As soon as we arrived, I was seen right away and taken care of. My parents and I didn't realize how sick I was until they took my vitals and noticed my oxygen levels were extremely low. I was so shocked when the doctors told me I had pneumonia and had to be hospitalized.
I am so happy that my parents took me to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital because the staff of the Lauren Small Children’s Medical Center treated me like I was a princess. They made sure I was healthy before they sent me home. All of my nurses, doctors and staff were so nice that I really didn't want to leave. I felt like I was a princess in my castle. I will be forever thankful for everything they did for me.
I hope you will consider supporting my participation in the Race to 10K event. All contributions will benefit the Lauren Small Children's Medical Center at Bakersfield Memorial. Any contribution will help, and all donations are tax deductible.
