Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Stand For The Kids?

A: Stand For The Kids is a one-day fundraising event, bringing the nation together to stand in solidarity for sick and injured children, and to support the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that serve our communities. These hospitals provide critical care and medical support, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

On one day, we will all stand together - in class, in the office, in the streets - to raise awareness of the vital importance of kid’s health and children’s hospitals, and to promote our belief that all children, no matter their injury or illness, deserve the hope and healing of a local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Q: When is the event taking place?

A: The 2013 Stand For the Kids will take place on different days depending on the city. Contact us at [email protected] to find out when Stand is in your market. Stand For the Kids 2014 will be announced soon, and will be the same date across the country. Stay tuned!

Q: How does Children’ Miracle Network Hospitals help save kids’ lives?

A: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America, which use the money where it is needed the most. When a donation is given, it stays in the community where it was raised, helping local kids. These donations support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of the mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible!

A: Standing is a symbolic gesture to honor the dedicated doctors, families, friends and supporters who spend countless hours and sleepless nights standing by a child in need. They don’t get to take a break, and neither will we.

Q: How long do I Stand?

A: We ask you to Stand one minute for every $1 raised. We recognize, however, that circumstances may prevent you from standing for the entire day or for long periods of time. We don’t want you to get fired, or risk injuring yourself. We just ask you to do your best for the kids.
