Can you say Roller Coaster Ride...the past 2 1/2 years in the Taylor house has been just that. Over 2 years of ups, downs, twists, turns and at times completely flipped upside down! We have been asked to help raise money for our local childrens hospital and we graciously accepted the offer. We know 1st hand how wonderful the staff, physicians and nurses are at the CMC. And just what miracles that they perform there!
It all began for us on June 2010 when Emma was admitted to the childrens hospital, for what we thought would be an overnight stay for fluids and then we would be back home to our "normal routine" Oh how your life can change in just 24 hours...that overnight stay turned into 30 plus days in and out of the ICU, Emma in a semi comatose state, hooked on a feeding tube, not talking, sitting, walking or even smiling at us for over a month.
Two years later after countless, tests, MRI's, labs, therapies, botox injections, consults to specialists from Washington DC to Atlanta.. Emma has been given a diagnosis of Mitochondrial Disease. This disease has no cure and is progressive in most cases. Emma will forever receive care at the CMC. We are so blessed to have received care and treatment from the CMC.
