Tristan was 5 months old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that caused uncontrollable seizures. He endured hundreds of seizures every day, even with the help of medications and chemotherapy. Believing the seizures would eventually kill Tristan, doctors at Seattle Children’s Hospital performed a four-hour surgery to remove the left side of his brain. There was a chance the surgery would prevent him from walking or talking, but today, Tristan is an athletic, talkative teenager. Tristan received swim therapy at Children’s Village, and loves swimming, karate, gymnastics, soccer and basketball.
