Everyone knows Sam as “Super Sam.” Diagnosed before he was born with a lethal form of skeletal dysplasia, which causes his bones not to grow as they should, Sam surprised everyone with his cries when he was born prematurely. He was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where he grew stronger, and while he’s small for his age, Sam is an active, social, happy boy. Now 5 years old, Sam receives speech therapy at Children’s Village for speech therapy due to hearing problems and developmental delays.
