Many programs choose to celebrate on Sunday during the final round of the Memorial Tournament Presented by Nationwide, but you may host an event anytime the rest of the year.
Setting aside a single day is common, but you can choose to fundraise for a week, or even up to a month!
Choose Your Fundraisers
Family Golf Day is flexible, and you can create your own ideas to fundraise or select from the ideas below.
- Add a simple suggested donation of $5 or $10 to your daily green fees.
- Sell paper Miracle Balloons for $1, $5, or $10, which can be ordered by following the instructions below.
- Round-up: provide your customers an opportunity to round up to the nearest dollar when purchasing green fees, driving range balls, club rentals, café, etc.
- Create a promotion around your driving range to help introduce the game to first-timers and “drive” fundraising.
- If you are a private club, your Member-Guest event could turn into the club’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital fundraiser.
- When you sign up, teams get a fundraising page that can be shared on your website or social media. When your members join your team, they also get a personal fundraising page that feeds into the team’s total. These pages are a great way to use the power of social media to boost your fundraising.
Recruit Players & Promote
As described previously, recruit golfers to sign up and create their own DonorDrive fundraising page. Then advertise your Family Golf Day event by printing out materials and promoting them on your website & social media channels.
- Digital Activation Kit: Templates and marketing materials will be provided via digital download as we approach the 2021 golf season. These materials can be used to promote your Family Golf Day and provide a starting point to recruiting golfers.
- Ordering Paper Balloons: Click here to order the Play Yellow Fundraising Kit, which can be used in your Family Golf Day fundraising.
- How to Share Your Fundraising Page: After you register, golfers and facilities will have buttons on their fundraising page in the lower right corner. These social share buttons can be posted on social media to request donations from family & friends. They can also be used to recruit new participants to your team.
The Play Yellow team recommends editing your fundraising page with personal messages on why raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is so important to you. These personal touches make a huge difference.
